Notes on Elemental Flight:

The next legend was of a prince who saw a phoenix flying in the sky and then started to have visions of the future. With those visions he was able to stop his older brother from killing their father. Being second in line, once his father died of natural causes he became king. After ruling for about 10 years, using his visions for good, he became conceded and began using the visions for his own gain. It seemed as though the phoenixes knew he was abusing it, because the queen saw a phoenix and began foreseeing acts her husband was going to do. She then turned around and counteracted his doings, making this right, and brought him back to his senses.

I hope I one day see a phoenix. Not just because I have always been fascinated by them, but also because I think it would be amazing to be able to see the future.

The final legend was about the Dragon Lady being a protector. Obviously, this Dragon Lady is not the current one because it took place over a thousand years ago. It seems that this is what formed the war between the Dragon Lady and Prince of Dragons. The Dragon Lady and Prince of Dragons actually sided with each other, until the Prince of Dragons (as well as his Red and Black Dragons) decided that the phoenixes could be used as war allies. The Prince of Dragons wanted to join forces and attack humans for hunting phoenixes. I can understand why he would feel that way, but I have to side with the Dragon Lady in that it is not the best way to counteract the attacks. In fear that the Prince of Dragons would try to force the phoenixes to fight (since his dragons out numbered them), the Dragon Lady found a place for them to hide. It is believed that the duty of protecting them has fallen on the Dragon Lady since then. And all following Princes of Dragons are influenced by the dragons themselves and tend to go after the phoenixes. Now it is unclear of exactly what he wants to do with them. But the war between the dragons and their leaders originated with the phoenixes. I did not know that is where it all started. I knew they were enemies and that the fought over the phoenixes, I just did not know there was a correlation.

The 7th Day of the 1st Moon

Nothing new has really happened. We are drawing close to Fantana; we should be there in a few days. Other than that, everything is rather standard for what my life is becoming. I am glad to have Cherish by my side. She has been a beacon of hope for happiness in all this. She also is very strong in that she is handling this horrible ordeal gracefully.
