The 9th Day of the 12th Moon
I have lost my breath. Franklin knows how to cast spells. He only admitted it when I cornered him while the troupe distracted Cherish with more of their displays. That is how he continues to communicate with the troupe. He was doing search spells when he would wander off when trying to locate them. When I tried to ask him why, he simply said that was a conversation for a later time.
At this point I could tell he knew he could not get out of my next question. What in the Spirit-Blessed world did this have to do with me? I was not and do not believe I currently am ready for his answer.
My mother…my mother is a sorceress. Why? I mean, how? My father despises magic. Franklin was finally frank with me…my mother hid it from my father. She was almost ashamed of her heritage, disguised herself as a noble lady from far away. And when she met my father, they feel in love and she tried to rid herself of her past. But she could not. Franklin found out about her history because one time he saw her playing the harp and saw a small amount of light coming from her hands. She always did seem to glow when she played the harp. Franklin said he asked her about it and she was honest with him. She told him that she did not want any of us to know as it would make us targets for those like our father.
How could she love someone who hated something so intertwined inside of her? Franklin could not answer that.
If this is why Alan is after me, my family is in danger. We have to go to Lypo now. I do not care if Franklin says they are being looked after. The need to know. I do not care if I end up going there alone, I have to get home and warn them.
