Notes on Axe of Steel:

I did not notice this last time, but there was a brief mention of a spear the goblin had. The author makes reference to it having engravings like the Lithka staff, but I have never heard of such a staff. And how does the author know all this information? These are very specific details. Oh I wish I knew who the author is. I know it was translated from dwarven, but how did the author know so much? Or is this just a legend and these parts are interpreted or added on? I wish we were back in the palace so I could ask Akma.

The 7th Day of the 12th Moon

I have been reading Axe of Steel to Cherish again. She is enjoying it greatly. I am noticing things that I had not before and it is making me curious, maybe even a little suspicious, but I make sure not to let Cherish catch on to any of it.

My arm is starting to do a lot better, thankfully. I no longer need to wear the sling, however they are keeping it tightly wrapped and I am to use my arm minimally. That will make riding the horses so much easier. It was rather distressful to need help every time.

Cherish is also enamored with the magic that the troop does. They put on a small display for her. She had never seen magic in action. At first I was surprised, then I realized they are the only way I’ve seen it. Why are people so afraid of this? Yes there is power behind it, but it is not all bad. They have even cast a few spells on my arm that make it feel so much better. They do think it will fully heal in the next day or two with further healing spells. That would be so nice.

I did ask Franklin how he knew the troupe, he laughed and told me that he met them when they came out when I was younger, before he was a guard for my family. They enjoyed each others company and kept in contact over the years. At least that makes sense and he was honest with me.

We are going to be traveling with the troupe, wherever they go is where we are headed. Knowing who we are traveling with I do feel quite a bit more secure. But still, why would Alan be after me? What does Franklin know?
