The 5th Day of the 10th Moon of the Year

Finally, I convinced Franklin to let me go to the library for my class. Akma was not surprised I could not find much useful in the books. He said he might have something hidden away that would help; he said he will send it to my room once he finds it. I hope he finds it soon.
I found out that apparently the guests are elven ambassadors! Why would Franklin want to keep me from them? I have dreamt of meeting elves since I was little and I might actually have a chance if Franklin does not continue to keep me captive. I was not able to see any of them, but Akma said that is what he was told was going on. Maybe this means the relations between us and the elves are improving! Oh how I would love to go see an elven city! I have always imagined that all their buildings were in the trees and that fireflies fly around and light up the city. Maybe they are not fireflies but fairies. Maybe they just have magical lights floating around everywhere. To watch elves doing their crafts with metals, gems, and wood would be amazing. Maybe I can find a way to get a glimpse of the ambassador. All I have to do is get out from under Franklin’s watch. I should try to get some sleep before Franklin goes off to his meeting. Maybe I can sneak out and see who it is. Maybe it is an elf I have heard of!
