The 25th Day of the 8th Moon of the Year
The palace is stunning. I never realized anything could look so brilliant. The towers seem to touch the clouds, each stone is situated perfectly in place, and that is just the outside. The moment we walked inside…there were glass chandeliers catching the light, stain glass windows of every different color, and the floor was made of beautiful gray marble. My room was just a gorgeous. The floor was wooden with rugs imported from I do not know where, the lamps were made of gold and thin glass that looked like crystal, and the bed…it was softer than any other mattress I had lain on. I might finally get some sleep.
