The 24th Day of the 8th Moon of the Year

The 24th Day of the 8th Moon of the Year

We reach Dovan tomorrow. We have taken things slower and more cautious. Franklin is on edge. I have not been able to read much. I also have not been able to sleep much still. Every time I try to sleep I hear noises that make me think more thieves are coming. I never thought I would think this, but I cannot wait until we reached the capitol. I will be writing a letter to Father to see if Franklin can stay with me. I have grown quite attached to him. He has not had much of a chance to teach me any fighting techniques because we all just want to get to town and not waste any time with other activities that will slow us down in any way. Our team is much smaller than it used to be. Guard Mathika has stayed behind with some of the injured to escort them back to Lypo. A few of the uninjured servants were too frightened to continue. It is just Franklin, two servants, and I now. Travel is faster, but there is less around to help me distract myself. I can tell everyone is worn down though. All of our faces show it; we also do not look like any amount of nobility, I wonder how the palace will accept that. Maybe once we are within the walls of a city with a comfortable bed to sleep on things will get better.
