The 17th Day of the 12th Moon

The 17th Day of the 12th Moon

Thank the Spirits we did not stay in Lypo long. We gathered as many bodies as we could and gave them a pyre funeral. There was no way we would be able to bury all of them in any amount of reasonable time. We know we probably missed some, but we said prayers and blessed their spirits. I must say, I have never experienced a ceremony to Etinne. It was actually rather beautiful, yet simple. They were very gracious and allowed me to lead a prayer to the Spirits, knowing that it would ease Cherish’s and my minds since most of these people worshipped them and not Etinne. I will say having extra prayers eases my mind a bit.

As we stood in silence watching the flames reach towards the sky, Cherish began to cry. I pulled her close, trying not to cry myself. I do not know how successful I was, but she did calm down some.

I do not know where we are going, but right now I do not care. I said a prayer for my mother, father, brother, and sister. Where could they have possibly gone? Oh Spirits, keep them safe. I do not think I could handle losing them.
