Notes on Axe of Steel:
Githlum was the general of a campaign against a large colony of goblins that were encroaching upon Noldheim’s boundaries. It was not until the final, winning battle that the Githlum realized something was not normal. The goblins had figured out how to cast spells! I had no idea goblins were capable of using magic, beyond enchanted items. He saw one goblin heal another as well as one of his comrades fall to a flaming sword, which only flamed as it hit his comrade and seemed to flame from the hilt down.
Once they returned to the capitol victorious, Githlum tried to convince the king that there was something wrong, but no one believed him. I am having trouble believing him. Githlum was requesting to try to hunt down the origin of the goblins, but the king refused to support his expedition. He gave Githlum permission to leave if he remained in contact and would return the moment he was summoned. Githlum felt it was the only way he could convince the king to allow the investigation to happen. He tried to find anyone who would accompany him, but his friends discouraged him from asking, worried his reputation would be ruined. So he ended up heading out alone.
25th Day of the 10th Moon
It has been a couple of days since I wrote, but Cherish has needed some assistance at her stall and at the orchard. Franklin seems to be warming up to spending time out of the palace. However, even when we had to split up slightly in the orchard, Franklin made sure he could still see me. I know he is just worried, but privacy might be nice occasionally.
Cherish told me she was extremely thankful for my help since I could reach branches she could not and even ended up getting some very fresh fruits. It seems that in a few days they will have a lot to sell. We will be joining her early tomorrow in order to help her bring the crates to the market.
I actually enjoyed picking fruits and it was not just because I was with Cherish and out of the palace. There was something calming about picking the fruit. I think I might quite enjoy helping Cherish in the orchard.
